Multi-Agency Security

The multi-agency security solution brings together disparate surveillance systems from different agencies into a common platform.

Multi-Agency Security: Jail, Courthouse, PSAP, High School

dinwiddie

Dinwiddie County, VA needed to upgrade its surveillance capabilities for the county’s high school, courthouse, jail, and PSAP facility. TrueSystems worked with the county to install an integrated security system that is customized to meet the unique needs of the four separate facilities, within the county’s desired budget.

TrueSentry surveillance network consisting of more than 185 cameras, within its budget, through a three-phase installation process. Both the courthouse and high school cameras are fed directly into the county’s Public Safety Answering Point (PSAP). For privacy and regulatory reasons, the jail’s surveillance feed goes into a control room on-site.  TrueSentry is the only digital surveillance system that is built on an open and scalable architecture, making communication between it and systems from other vendors seamless.  Each building now has a surveillance system that makes the facility more secure, increases law enforcement visibility, and saves the county money.

Jail Surveillance

Problem: The jail’s surveillance system did not allow the guards to see past a cell’s bars at night. For the safety of both the inmates and the guards, the jail needed to install a system that could see into the cells all the way to the back wall, providing constant monitoring of the facility. The jail also needed to improve security to ensure that contraband was not being smuggled to the inmates.

Solution: The jail upgraded its surveillance system to include the addition of video analytics, which allows officers to monitor the facility more efficiently and respond to incidents more quickly. Analytics-enabled cameras serve as a barrier to illicit transactions and at the same time gives guards a better view into the jail.

PSAP Perimeter Surveillance and Night Vision

Problem: Call takers and dispatchers working late shifts would have to be escorted to their cars by an armed deputy as a security precaution. There was very little in the way of security infrastructure and as a result, employees leaving work late at night were at risk. Each location had unique needs and requirements.

Solution: TrueSystems was able to implement a superior video surveillance system, customized to meet the specific security challenges and needs of each facility. The PSAP facility installed cameras to monitor the front and rear doors as well as the hallway and the parking lot. Camera feeds that go directly to the PSAP lets agents monitor who is entering and leaving the building. Armed deputies no longer need to escort employees to their cars during the 11.00 pm shift change, freeing up time and resources that can be put towards other priorities.
